Sure. As solopreneurs and business owners, we experience a lot of up and downs. But the good far out weighs the bad, don’t you think?

I certainly do. In fact, when someone recently asked me why I started my own business it was hard to articulate just one concise reason. But it got me to thinking about all the great things that come with being an entrepreneur – and it filled my heart with gratitude.

So, just for fun, here are 99 amazing reasons to be an entrepreneur. Which is your favorite? What did I miss? Be sure to leave us a comment. We’d really like to know!

1.	You believe work should exhilarate you, not exhaust you

2.	You’re too old to have to ask anyone if it’s okay for you to go to doctor’s or the dentist’s (or the therapist’s) office

3.	You’re NOT too old to occasionally need a nap in the middle of the day

4.	Make-up, pantyhose and high heels are overrated

5.	You believe you have the right to make chocolate chip cookies any time your heart darn well pleases

6.	You realized there is no such thing as job security

7.	Your kids are growing up entirely too fast and you don’t want to miss it

8.	If you had to buy cookies, wrapping paper, candles, popcorn, holiday ornaments, pizzas or candy bars from one more co-worker’s kid you were going to scream

9.	Things like laptops, your car, long distance, childcare, internet access and more become tax deductions (Disclaimer: This is NOT tax advice!)

10.	John and Marlena might get back together… again and you don’t want to miss a single minute (and no, Days of our Lives is NOT the same without them)

11.	Fresh air should be enjoyed more than to and from the way from the parking garage to your office

12.	You never ONCE participated in a productive departmental meeting… other than maybe enjoying some free bagels or donuts

13.	The cable guy, the plumber and the electrician only come between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (if you’re lucky)

14.	When people asked you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” you thought to yourself, “Do I really have to pick just ONE thing??!!”

15.	It’s ridiculous that companies can make you work unlimited overtime, and yet you don’t get unlimited vacation time

16.	You never had time to use all of your paid vacation time anyway

17.	Finger-painting is a perfectly legitimate appointment to schedule at 2 p.m.

18.	Your dog deserves to have someone keep him (or her) company (and not have to wait all day to use the bathroom)

19.	You want to be the one in control of your earnings potential… not some HR executive three floors up from you who doesn’t know how many late nights and weekends you’ve put in because you’re boss is a moron

20.	Your last three bosses were morons

21.	Making gifts for people like homemade hot fudge is a whole lot more rewarding than shopping online during your lunch break (speaking of which, I could really use some more of that hot fudge, Toni! &#9786

22.	Professional development and personal development are now one in the same

23.	Sometimes you just want to play hooky

24.	You just wanted to see if you could do it

25.	You believe being successful in your work and taking care of your health and wellness should not be mutually exclusive

26.	Entrepreneurship is in your blood

27.	You’re a staunch believer that the lack of planning on someone else’s part should not constitute an emergency on your part

28.	Sometimes all you have the energy for is the Price is Right

29.	The pace of your progression is entirely up to you

30.	You love being “out in front” of new trends and being a solopreneur forces you to be

31.	Annual performance reviews don’t have a section dedicated to The Law of Attraction

32.	You’re damn good at what you do and you can reach more people with your passion, your gifts and your experience on your own

33.	You weren’t using your degree anyway

34.	You wanted to rediscover the creativity you had as a child

35.	You’ve always understood that failing to plan was planning to fail, only now you actually have the ability to control the planning yourself

36.	Somewhere along the lines you set an intention, even if you don’t remember exactly where or when (I recently remembered the exact moment I set the intention to start my own business… I was 19&#8230

37.	You never did well with authority

38.	Office windows should be made to open

39.	Co-workers (enough said)

40.	There’s no greater challenge (other than maybe parenthood)… and you’re more than up for it

41.	You’re someone who gets bored easily

42.	Your title can be whatever you want it be… which means it’s ALWAYS a higher title than “you know who”

43.	Traffic sucks

44.	You realized that the concept that “every employee is replaceable” is true – but you know that YOU most certainly are not

45.	Your last job makes NBC’s “The Office” seem like a highly functioning, top-performing workplace

46.	Having a unique personality is considerate an asset, not something to be managed

47.	You understand that the corner office is actually just a corner in an office building – whereas now you can work from any “corner of the world”

48.	If your friend calls at 6 p.m. and she asks if you can go to Italy for two weeks, all expenses paid, you can say, “YES!” (…and yes, I said “yes”!)

49.	Saying “no” to things you don’t want to do (other than taxes) is a plausible option

50.	Migraines… bosses can’t “see” them, but you sure as hell can FEEL them!

51.	It’s okay to take the credit for a job well done

52.	You’ll meet way more interesting people than you ever thought possible

53.	There’s no better way to get a “job” that’s designed exactly around your own passion, strengths and experience than creating it yourself

54.	You no longer have to hide your shopping bags or sneak back into the office after a long lunch break

55.	The first really warm day of spring is meant to be enjoyed… outdoors

56.	Every job you’ve ever had will finally come into handy (and if you don’t know why, then you really need to take our Brilliant Profits™ course!)

57.	You truly want to make a difference in the world regardless of how cliché that might sound to some

58.	You get to choose who has the power to judge your work

59.	If management makes a bone-headed decision, you at least know “what they were thinking” ☺

60.	You think that not knowing exactly what possibilities tomorrow holds is one of the most magical gifts that the Universe provides

61.	You never have to ask permission

62.	There are a lot more smart people in the world than really rich people, and you want to be both

63.	And you want to be happy too

64.	You now have fresh flowers, candles and music in your office every day…

65.	You had someone who always believed in you and you want to show them just how right they were!

66.	Whoever thought cubicles were a good idea never had to work in one

67.	Taking the afternoon off to play the back nine after lunch shouldn’t be reserved only for those whose job titles start with the letter “C”

68.	Writing fun lists like this is technically considered “work” ☺

69.	To make money. A LOT of money.

70.	The decision to work nights, weekend or holidays should be entirely yours

71.	You discovered that there’s an ENTIRE WORLD of people “out there” who also don’t work 9 – 5 and are actually at places like the mall and the park in the middle of the day!!! (This came as a huge shocker to me after I fled Corporate America)

72.	Being richer, smarter and happier is indeed the best revenge!

73.	You believe the best way to overcome a fear is to face it head on

74.	You realized that the path to all the things on your vision board would come through your entrepreneurial journey

75.	Bad hair days are irrelevant (most of the time anyway)

76.	Packing up your “office” and working from the beach for the entire summer should be entirely plausible (right, Toni!?)

77.	Giving back shouldn’t have to be squeezed in to one “volunteer day” a year

78.	Too much of a good thing… is a REALLY great thing

79.	You – and only you – decide the value of your work and your time

80.	Going back to college for yet another degree just wasn’t going to happen

81.	You can give yourself a promotion whenever you deserve one

82.	Showing emotion, like crying and laughing, isn’t only acceptable – it’s practically a requirement for success

83.	You now have the time and the reason to write that book

84.	Virtual Assistants make dealing with all that “techie” stuff a non issue (Thank you, Annette – we love you!!!)

85.	You realized that the trouble with having a job is that it feels like work

86.	If you want to have popcorn, cookies and a Coke for lunch you don’t have to defend yourself to anyone

87.	The connection between your action and your direct earnings level is the best motivator of all

88.	You can work as fast or as slow, as hard or as little as YOU want

89.	The cost of gas, parking, professional cloths, childcare, dry cleaning, and eating out every day gobble up your paychecks (and aren’t even tax deductions!)

90.	You had a dream…. and you knew you could make it come true.

91.	You can have all the degrees and letters after your name that you like, and you’re still not successful if you don’t love what you do

92.	Your cat doesn’t care if you’re still in your pajamas at 3:00 in the afternoon

93.	Dropping the kids off at school and starting work “on time” are not mutually exclusive

94.	There are only so many times you can listen to Rihanna singing “Umbrella” before you want to kill the person in the next cube

95.	Your laptop works just as well next to the pool as it does in some stuffy office

96.	Creativity trumps Policy & Procedures any day of the week

97.	More overtime = more Botox

98.	Now downsizing means losing those 10 extra pounds you’ve been unhappy with

99.	You owe it to yourself to build a business that’s part of a life you love™

Be sure to sign up for our weekly tip-zine, Brilliance!
Hi All,

I am a fan of Dan S. Kennedy, Jay Abraham and many more. They have given me strategies and tactics to isolate specific things in your life and translate them into action items that you can do to keep yourself on track to being the kind of person that success can find. I have found the works of Napoleon Hill and Keith Cameron Smith to be useful in changing my mindset and to focus on the core elements that lead to lasting change (I also recommend "Change or Die" (2007) by Alan Deutschmanl).

To that end, I've read "5 Laws" by Brett Harward and have used Brett's observations and tactics (and also some of Spike Humor's) to change my business fundamentally and focus on building the business and running it while keeping it from running me and consuming me.

Brett is now offering some of his best material free at http://www.itisarevolution.com. I am in the wildfire program with Brett and Garrett White. I strongly recommend that you take a look at his material. I don't know if is a good fit for you but it may be for many of us. I hope this helps you in some way and please let me know if it does.

To your success,

John Eberhardt

Where’s My Income Gone,

It these turbulent times, we are often left asking ourselves the question, where’s my income gone, or at the very least what happened to my income.

Income Taxes are going up, health care payments are rising, hell, even a burger at McDonald's has all but doubled in price, well it’s a way of the world and something that you have to get used to. Just imagine what a trades person will charge you in another 10 years, not a great thought is it?

Government’s around the world are spending more money than they earn, sound familiar and hoping that economies pick up, well let me tell you, the direct result of the governments being able to fund their debts will come for you and I. Even more taxes. Now I’m not against taxes, of course the me tax we pay the more money we earn, so bring on more money I say, but what do you have to understand to be able to earn more?

You existing income stream simply doesn’t cut t any more and the sooner that you realize this the sooner you are able to take some action to control your life.

You can naturally try and work more hours. Great result you’ll end up sick, divorced, or worse.

If you own and operate a company you could expand production, hire more workers and spend more time working in your business, you see that’s what more business owners don’t realize, they have a business to create wealth and most just pay for their lifestyle and tends to work ,longer hours with more responsibility.

You can look at supplementing your income with additional income from another source. But what source? What you want is a way to run a business that effectively allows you to leverage your time to create income, and that brings me to the largest and fastest growing businesses in the world. The Internet based business.

The internet is now used by more than 1.8 billion people around the world which is about 27% or the worlds population, and its growing at a rate of about 400% pa (internetworldstats.com)

So where do you look for a business or do you start your own? I’m going to say that their is are alot of great business out their that will allow you to create riches. What you have to identify is the one that has great support and will work for you.

There are also tens of thousands of marketing scams out their that try and promote great fortune and many people sign up each and every day, their MLM, cash gifting schemes and sites that promote you will earn ‘000’s each week if you get qualified.

Now I’m not against MLM, in fact most business and countries operate an MLM style of system in their business, so it does work. There are some that are better than others and some that don’t have any, or very little in the way of product at the end, not good.

So what you want is a business that delivers to you both a philosophy and a vehicle to create wealth, many don’t do both. Many businesses including businesses like “The Secret” and some of Bob Proctors Life Success methods have solid and time proven philosophies but don’t deliver to you the vehicle to create wealth. They all focus on self development and improvement, the mindset required to achieve, and the need to take action, which are the fundamental cornerstones of success.

Where they all fail, and they all have this in common, is not offering a vehicle for you to prosper and to create wealth.

So what’s the solution?

What I like to promote is all the benefits that these powerful philosophies have together with a vehicle allowing you to promote yourself and your business, a business that allow you to understand the teachings of the greatest minds, the secret, the life success coaching methods and implement a business vehicle to make money. After all, the making money part should be what it’s all about, yes?

Stuart Brown is the co-founder of the Global Mastermind Network and the Formula for Riches.

Fashion Rules for Looking (and Feeling) Like a Million-Dollar Entrepreneur

As an up-and-coming entrepreneur, you need to consciously manage your image and make sure that it conveys to your customers what you want it to say. O...

As an up-and-coming entrepreneur, you need to consciously manage your image and make sure that it conveys to your customers what you want it to say. One factor that goes a long way in crafting your image is your clothes. Whether you choose to wear a business suit, a dress or jeans when meeting with clients, you always want your clothes to convey the image of success.

So here are some can’t miss rules to help you do just that.

Rule #1: Spend more to save more.

That may sound crazy, but it’s true. Think about how many times you’ve picked up something on sale and thought you were getting a great bargain – only to have it gather dust in the back of your closet. So before you shell out one dime for that blouse on the clearance rack, consider these two questions:

•	How good is the quality?
•	How often will I wear it?

First of all, if it’s not good quality, don’t bother. It won’t last. You may only be spending $29.99 for it, but after three or four washes, it’ll be history.

Then, think about how often you’re likely to wear it. How versatile is it? Will this top/skirt/handbag really go with many things in your closet? If so, you’re far more likely to wear it often.

If the garment doesn’t pass this quick test, consider passing it over for a pricier item. Get something well-made in a classic style and color. You’ll wear it for years, and in the long run, it will turn out to save you money. Consider this little equation:

Cost per wear = the price of the garment/how many times you wear it.

So paying $200 for a skirt that you wear twice a month (24 times in one year) is $8.33 dollars per wear. A “bargain” skirt that costs $40 but you wear only twice before you donate it to Goodwill comes out to be $20 per wear! Not such a bargain after all, is it?

Rule #2: Buy the Best Basics You Can Afford

When it comes to basic pieces that you’ll wear all the time, always go for the highest quality in your price range. You can take one basic piece, such as a timeless black pencil skirt, and pair it with sweaters, jackets, even a t-shirt and funky boots to create lots of different looks and moods.

Not only that, when you’re wearing high quality clothes, you really do feel different. I have lots of skirts in my closet, some of them custom-made, and let me tell you, slipping into a well-made outfit makes me feel like I could conquer the world.

And don’t worry. If your budget doesn’t allow for a splurge, here are a couple of innovative ways to get around that.

1.	Join a members-only shopping community. They’re free to join, and every weekday, you get an e-mail with wonderful designer clothing, jewelry, shoes and accessories at up to 80% off. Two great options are www.ideeli.com and www.hautelook.com.

2.	Use credit card points to buy gift cards. American Express has the Membership Rewards Program. Visa has World Points. And both allow you to exchange your points for gift cards from dozens of retailers. It’s like finding money you had forgotten about in your pocket.

Rule #3: Never Underestimate the Power of Accessories

Accessories are wonderful because they give you a lot of bang for your buck. You can easily update your look with a couple of carefully chosen accessories. One of my favorite things to do is wear a simple black dress with eye-catching, up-to-the-minute shoes. (I have a pair of hot pink sandals with ruffles on the way. I so can’t wait!) Or you can try a wide black leather belt or a polka dot scarf.

The other good thing is that they’re often less expensive, so you can indulge in something trendier without feeling guilty. Here are some of the hottest looks this spring to consider:
•	Crystals
•	Animal prints and texture
•	Retro polka dots
•	Bold florals
•	Ruffles
•	Military chic
•	Tribal prints
•	Nudes

Rule #4: Pay Attention to the Details

Million dollar entrepreneurs do not wear scuffed shoes, ripped pantyhose, or ratty underwear. No matter what’s in your wardrobe, you need to keep it in good shape. Meeting a client in shoes with worn-down heels or a blouse with a spot on the sleeve does not convey a professional, successful impression and, very importantly, it has a negative effect on your mindset. You’ll feel more successful if you’re confident about the way you look, and that attitude will be perceived – and responded to – by others.

Rule #5: Let Your Personality Shine Through

Here at Richer. Smarter. Happier., we’re all about being authentic, heart-centered entrepreneurs. We believe in letting the beauty of your spirit come through in everything you do, including putting together your “look.” After all, fashion is a reflection of your unique beauty. So have fun with it! If you’re feeling bold and daring, express that with brightly colored jacket or a pair of rock and roll, metal-studded shoes, or whatever else feels good to you.

Because that’s the bottom line: when your true beauty mixes with a wardrobe that says “success” and inspires confidence, watch out! Because something magic is about to happen.

Do yourself a favor, don't listen to "them" Start today to release yourself from the shackles of restraint that most of the worlds population find themselves in and see no way out from.
Lessons in Life

Its not what you know, its who you know

How many time have you heard this? I think that I first heard my Father say this when I was knee high and have filed this particular message in my mind ever since.

The words ring true in any age, in any environment.

If you’re looking for employment it’s a valuable lesson to learn. A majority of jobs are still filled from within, or through a particular contact at an organisation. I’m sure you can understand that if you know someone who knows someone, and they are prepared to create some leverage for you, all you have to do is turn up.

So what I’m going to say is that your personal contacts and networks are the most valuable business tool you have at your disposal. These contacts can be the difference between success and failure.

Look at the problem of gaining employment in any organisation. If you’re presenting yourself as 100 other people are for the same role, what makes you stand out, what make the employer consider you for their organisation.

Yu have to be a salesperson no matter the job, no matter the role, no matter the organisation, you have to sell yourself. Something that I have learnt over the years is that you don’t have to hold the best qualifications or be the smartest applicant for a position. You see life isn’t fair. A great Australian politician, Malcolm Fraser, said once that life wasn’t meant to be easy when faced with tough times, and in reality no truer words have been spoken, but its all about learning and applying one of the greatest sales techniques.

What can you offer to do that all the others cant do.

If you can answer this question, you are well on the way. Life is fair, so take this rule and apply it at your next interview or sales presentation. Prepare yourself to be able to present better than the next person. Remember the old motto be prepared, and you can accomplish anything.

I watched a motivational video with the team I work with yesterday – The Peaceful Warrior – a definite recommendation!

It is based on true events and tells the story of Dan Millman’s journey as an Olympic gymnast – and the learnings that he gets from his ‘coach’ Socrates. I took away so much from the movie – as did most of the team that I work with .. and we all left the evening with something to think about and ponder on how the learnings relate to our lives and to the work that we are doing.

I would like to share a few learnings from the movie – but I would also recommend that you watch it yourself and see what your take on it is. I really am a big believer in personal development and things that make us stronger – we are all on a journey and like Socrates says – it is the journey, not the destintation that is important… so what journey are you on – and are you enjoying it and making the most of it?

Socrates: Death isn’t sad. The sad thing is: most people don’t live at all.

Socrates calls himself the Peaceful Warrior – because the battles we fight are on the inside.

Socrates: Everyone wants to tell you what to do and what’s good for you. They don’t want you to find your own answers, they want you to believe theirs.
Dan Millman: Let me guess, and you want me to believe yours.
Socrates: No, I want you to stop gathering information from the outside and start gathering it from the inside.

There are no ordinary moments – as there is always something happening around us all the time – we just need to be aware of what is going on around us and appreciate it.

Socrates: Where are you?
Dan Millman: Here.
Socrates: What time is it?
Dan Millman: Now.
Socrates: What are you?
Dan Millman: This moment.

Sometimes we get so caught up in thinking about the past or things that have happened that we miss the moment of NOW – what is happening right NOW in your life? How present are your thoughts?

Take out the Trash from Your Mind!

I think for me – that really appealed to me in the movie was the journey and the concept of the Warrior – I believe that I too am a Warrior

Socrates: A warrior does not give up what he loves, he finds the love in what he does.

Socrates: I call myself a Peaceful Warrior… because the battles we fight are on the inside.

Socrates: A warrior is not about perfection or victory or invulnerability. He’s about absolute vulnerability.

Socrates: There’s no greater purpose than service to others.

A Warrior Acts and a Fool Reacts

I apply these principles in everything that I do and in the work that I do – and I am on a journey.

So my thought for the day is – do you apply these principles to your life? What journey are you on?
Something to think about!

To making this day count!

Get FREE Ebooks on Financial Education: http://Wealth-Education-Online.com

I am currently reading Napoleon Hill's The Law of Success In Sixteen Lessons. I have read many success and personal development books over the past 8 years but none have had as much impact on me as Napoleon Hill's classic Think and Grow Rich. The day I finished reading Think and Grow Rich for the first time I walked into the boss's office to resign announcing that I was going to become a property investor. Before that time I was going nowhere fast. Since then I have read Think and Grow Rich 4 times, and listened to the audio many times over. I have 3 different copies of the book and recently found a hard cover version.

The two volume set of The Law Of Success In Sixteen Lessons is totally awesome, I am finding whilst reading it, just as it says in the book that I often am having inspirational ideas jump into my head, and have to put the book down to grab paper and pen to record these ideas. It delves much more heavily into the teachings found in Think and Grow Rich. Looking into myself whilst reading I have realized the importance of forming a mastermind team, and not trying to do everything myself. Napoleon Hill's teachings have helped set in my mind that anything I desire is within reach.

Success is not just reserved for a chosen few. Each and everyone of us has the capacity to be successful in every area of life. Success results from cultivating certain habits. Habits are formed over time but can be manifested.

Successful people are successful because they have learnt that they want to be successful, they believe they are successful and adopt this as their way of life.

Would you like to be a successful?

Try and adopt some of the following principles of success;

Develop clear vision of what exactly you want to achieve in your life. 'Believe and you can achieve' philosphy. This is the starting point to success.

Believe without any doubt that you would achieve your dreams.

Remove yourself from any negative influences in your life such as negative people, books, articles, etc. Surround yourself with positive things that boost your belief that you would succeed.

Take responsibility for your actions. You outcome is governed by your action each and every day.

Develop positive affirmations and repeat these everyday. Stay fixed and focused and use vision boards and goal or promise cards to assist you.

Commit to action. Once you decide to take action stay committed and never give up.

Set a specific goal. Your goals should be precise, measurable, realistic and timed.

Develop an action plan. Day by day, week by week, year by year, ensure you know what you need to do, and then do it. Apply faith and dedication to achieve your goals.

Never give up until you have achieved what you desire. Persistence is key to success.

If you fail at any stage, get back up again, treat every failure as a learning opportunity.

Look for joy in what you do and celebrate your achievements at every stage.
Maintain an attitude of gratitude, be grateful for what you have and achieve in the world.

An last, take action. Each day every day, just a small step on your road.
